Hey guys.
Last night I was working on a friends pac man cabaret and got most things to work on it. The monitor comes on now and the marquee now lights up but no game comes up on the monitor. We just bought this board off of eBay and it was guaranteed to be in fully working order. I'm not sure if its not hooked up right because on the board there are spots for 2 harnesses, one on the top and one on the side. I only have a harness on the top plugged in. We also got a filter board with it too and I'm not quite sure what it does or where it goes. Any help would be awesome. I'm gunna try to go back over tommorow and finish it if possible. Thanks

I will see if I can help, pac-man is a game I'm pretty familiar with.
It sounds like it could be a power issue, first thing to do is look here http://lawnmowerman.rotheblog.com/ there are many fixes and things to help you fix your game here. I suggest checking your fuses/fuse block those are known to go bad and should be replaced. These cause all kinds of issues.

While you are in there check voltages going to your board, the website I listed gives tips on how to do that.
Pac-man is also known for having it's edge connector go bad so that may need to be replaced at some point as well.

The filter board is not needed and should NOT be used as it can cause more issues.
Fun fact - that little connector you mention at the side is a diagnostic port, I haven't seen it used for anything except this http://cambridgearcade.dyndns.org/?q=node/44

#1 - Remove the filter board (this could be your problem!)
#2 - Only one single edge connector on the top
#3 - Check the voltages on the board (I cover this in one of the Pac-Man restore vids)
