Yeah, $250 for a working monitor and (repaired) pcb. That's it though, nothing else.
I figured that might be a good route. Get those two parts then bide my time looking for any trashed or otherwise broken nintendo cab then convert/restore it back to donkey kong. Repro and NOS parts are common as rainwater for donkey kongs, right?
The two main factors I'm trying to satisfy here is enjoying restoring and being a cheapskate. I have no interest in paying 1000-2000 for a pristine DK cabinet.
I woulda and I aint playin either. I would love a like new all original machine like DK for 1000.
I already have one and id would take another mint one for 1000.
Look at the MKII for example. I paid about 100 for an mk2 board. 200 for the cab and monitor (have to recap it ) side art is 150 (have to put it on). t molding 30...
new jamma harness 40 (super jamma) a marquee for 45... CP art and overlay 50 . oh and 75 bux to have it brought upstairs
.
After that what I have is pretty much 75% prestine. yeah id rather pay a grand and just plug it in
.
