but with this mkII cab restore I don't mind spending the money ..
it was one of my favs so its worth it.
I should have a spanky nice pcb by Monday and my side art and t molding are on the way .
the only other thing I haven't ordered was a marquee cuz I wanna be sure im getting a mint one.

ok so I stripped down the CP today.. any way I look at it im gonna have to have new CP art printed or buy one.
the sides are ok now... looking into MIDWAY sides and mk2 front logos .

Ok so now I got the rest of my caps for the audioboard... every single cap on the board plus the crystal are replaced with quality new caps.

I noticed the volume got louder after new caps.

Im only doing two mortal kombats in my machine. MK 1 and 2.
Reason being is I can buy a dedicated MK 3 and 4 off a buddy of mine cheap so im just gonna do that after so I have three machines.
plus nobody helped me build this machine

OK, keep in mind that the kick harnesses aren't the same between MK1 en MK2

You could get a regular Jamma switcher, but you also need to wire both kickharnesses

I took the monitor out today.. while its out I gotta remove the old blitz pcb holder, fix the nicks and sand the cab.
then I gotta clean this filthy bastard and re cap it.

I already have a cap kit... and I went to cables and connectors to buy anything that's not in the kit that I can change.
Every cap gets changed .. not just whats in the kit.
Also on a side note I got my buddy making the new control panel as we read this so when I go to put
all the new artwork on the machine looks brand new.

I hate this hacked ass monitor chassis so much I just bought a rebuilt one.

Ok well since im waiting for a new monitor chassis and my friend is cutting me a nice exact replacement for my CP .
This is a complete restore.. It may not be an Atari machine from 5000 years ago but its an arcade machine none the less.

After about 3 coffee's I got my ass in gear and went for a total stripping to one side of the cab.

then I wanted to get rid of every rough edge on the cab... I block sanded the entire side and edges and used body filler
to get rid of any nics or dings.

Words of wisdom.  Use a mask when sanding bondo.. I caught cancer from doing autobody for 16 years 90% of the time I used a mask and you are still at risk.
That shit goes in your lungs and does not desolve. I figured id mention that as ive not seen it mentioned in any cab restore bondo job (even the dude in TNT vids)

Its flat.. and the edges are straight. Ill do the other side in a few days but you got the idea. 
If I was to be painting the sides and adding partial art (mortal kombat covers entire side with art) I would have used pro fill.
Profill is a very light , thin bondo.. its expensive I might add.  but it would have made the side completely smooth.
