your not gonna believe this.
I'm in a car club called the T Birds (I have two tbirds)  ive never met all the members but the guy that brought me to show me the machine
is in the same car club. He has a 57 t bird , anyways   we have mutual friends , most of them are millionaires.  The house I picked the DK up in cost about two million.
it wasn't the money, they wanted the shit outta there.  so he turned it on and it ran fine other than the screen squash.

Got pretty damn far with this machine since I got it no more than a week or so ago.

Pulled out the CP.. cleaned it and heated the plastic cover and clamped it flat until it cooled.
I don't know why but it was warped upwards on the left side with the card insert goes.
Also I did have like new carriage bolts and original set of DK buttons plus another stick.
the stick that was in it was in such bad shape.
uh... the marquee light.. LUCKY ME they have a bulb shop the next town over that had the actual match for the marquee .UNLUCKY ME it cost a lot .
My friend owns a cabinet company he made me a new base for the cab.. he has 3 DK machines so he knew to match it spot on.
the monitor works like a charm.  I still get a slight hum from somewhere.  coin mechs both work (found five more bux jammed in the coin mechs )
im gonna restore the cab sides when it gets warmer with platinum and pro fill. then some 2k primer or maybe apoxy  high build primer (expensive but worth it)

Anyways check out the new base
