In comparison, Arcade fever looks like a flyer, and I do like that book, but that's the comparison in weight at least. Supercade is nearly 450 pages of great photos, multiple authors, goes through video game consoles, home computing, arcades of course, info on companies like Atari, Sega, features on Twin Galaxies.  Personally I treasure this book and dip into it a lot.
For the pittance I've seen these on abebooks, I wouldn't hesitate.

If you buy it and don't like it, I'll send you the money, put it in the fundraiser pot for Eurocade 2014, but you will love it i'm sure. It's a very visual book.  Use the "look inside " feature on amazon.com for a taster.

If there's a particular machine you'd like me to look up I'll show you what the book has got.
People reviewing this book slagging it off for mame screenshots are correct, but well off the mark, they missed the point, there's original ads, cover arts, rare consoles, the reviews are 4/5 on amazon and nearly 5/5 on UK.

I just bought it NEW for $16 plus $4.00 shipping on AMAZON. I hope it's good! Cheesy I bought the soft cover version.

This is another book that I own. The presentation is a little crude but it has a lot of great info. I started reading it a couple of years ago and then stopped. I did enjoy what I read. I need to get back to it:

I think this one is great!  Cheesy This is more on the story-side. It's about this dude, who starts a arcade in the mall (in the 80s) and tells about his journey, all the way up till he is forced to close it down. A great read, and cheap!

http://www.amazon.com/The-Final-Day-Westfield-Arcade/dp/0615838863/ref=sr_1_1_bnp_1_pap?ie=UTF8&qid=1391124645&sr=8-1&keywords=the+final+day+at+westfield+arcade

It also has a digital copy version. And, of course a paperback.  ;)
