This is a tough question, really. For me, I think it might be Super Mario Bros. I know, that's a bit cliche. But, really, I just love that it is that much different than the NES version.
I also really love Balloon Fight and Wrecking Crew. They are the best multiplayer games IMO.
What are your favorite games?

I love Excite bike played it all the time as a kid, that DK and DKjr were the only Nintendo games that i would look for in the Arcade. Played them all but those three i love with Excite bike being my Fav! |

I have only played a handful of VS titles but so far SMB is just my favorite. Its so incredibly challenging versus the NES version. Still trying to beat all 8 levels on one  ! |

I have only played a handful of Vs titles. I am hoping to try out Hogans Alley and Duck Hunt soon. Out of the ones I have played so far I have to say SMB for the same reasons everyone else has. It is so much more difficult but has the best glitches from the classic SMB  |

I have never played on a vs cab as all Nintendo machines are rare here in the uk
Do next best thing on the nes would be dr mario

For me, it is RBI Baseball all the way. My favorite game on the Unisystem as a kid, still my favorite today.

never had a chance to dive deep in vs as a kid. but my faves now are SMB and goonies. Maybe when i get my DR. Mario in that will be my new fave! |

I'm a sucker for classic first party Nintendo and head to head play so it would have to be Vs. Dr. Mario. It's the only first party Vs. game with a daughter board. If I had a Red Tent it might be Vs. Balloon Fight.  |

Vs. Gradius is the best, Space shooters always keep me on edge. With an awesome OST this game rules!
