Hi, This is Dean from the UK. Thanks to John's Arcade on Youtube, and the VGO Podcast, I'm now hooked and seeking out my first project. If anyone has any tips where to find projects in the UK, all ears.

Fave games, Galaga, Berzerk, Swarm (Galaxians Boot), Phoenix, .....and Pac Land

True restoration is an art form. Like any good artist you have to know what your doing. Painting a single line on a canvas and calling it a masterpiece does not fly in restoring a arcade machine. Do it right

Hey Dean, not to put a dampener on John's Arcade, however for UK Arcade gaming,  projects and stuff there are 2 main UK forums which have been running for over 10years:-  UKVac (www.ukvac.com) and JammaPlus (www.jammaplus.co.uk).  There are others, and then Ebay of course...

John's videos and podcasts are awesome in their own right, and John, Shawn and Joe to a great fun job of it - giving a lot of their time to this crazy fun mad hobby!  Smiley

Hi where are the best arcades in the uk?  The ones in wales have turned into jokes. The one in Devon , maybe Somerset closed up. There's an effort in butlins  .  I'm looking for the uk or eu fun spot . I used to live in the arcades in the 80s. I'm getting back into this, and it's all johns fault.  What is the uk equivalent of Craigslist ? I guess it's gumtree. eBay is just a rip off. Just a load of mame cabs usually.

Hey Dean - dude, check out the UK forums I mentioned on my last post.
There are not any arcades left in the UK as such, just the usual at the coasts, which are now largely shitty gambling machines, etc.  No classic cabs of course.
Largely, all the cabs are now in private collections or scrapped (eeeek).  Also a fair few Arcade collectors have switched to the dark side (Pinaball only).
Some collectors have 40+ cabs (some all working), with others just keeping them at a lock-up (storage for you !).

It's a sad reality  , was told today to get to Disneyland Florida, three floors of arcades Huh?  Wasn't aware of that. Being from a coastal town, my arcades have turned to crap. But they are still going, I got my piece of shit ms Pac man from a lockup, stinking of rat piss. From  a local pikey lockup

It's great to see someone looking to get into the restoring lingo,
and I'm also happy to see Pac-Land as one of your faves...
That needs more attention than it actually got.
