Hi everyone! I recently got hired as technician at Scandia family fun center here in Fairfield, CA! Im very excited about it as Ive wanted to get into arcade repair for over 10 years. Coming into this job, there are a lot of issues in our arcade so I may drop in from time to time, though I have a few guys with many years experience helping me as well.

Heres a video of youtuber Gamester81 doing a walkthrough at our arcade. Lots of stuff not working, so a good chance for me to gain some real experience!

Yeah for sure! Number 1 issue we have in the arcade is monitors, few other issues here and there, but mostly monitors

Serious question here, how does one become an arcade tech? I'm looking to get some actual degrees in the subject but I'm not quite sure where to start. I also intend on making a FAQ out of it so more people can be given a starting point.

Welcome to the forums, feel free to drop a pm if you want to chat.

True restoration is an art form. Like any good artist you have to know what your doing. Painting a single line on a canvas and calling it a masterpiece does not fly in restoring a arcade machine. Do it right

With Scandia I responded to their want ad on Craigslist. They were looking for an Arcade tech and its something Ive wanted to do for a long time and I have someone with a ton of experience backing me so it was a good fit for them.

If there is an arcade near you and you want to work for them as tech, the best thing to do is go in and talk to them!
