I wish just looking at the board was the way it worked.

No idea what not working means. I need a bit more information than that. Though, no matter what it sounds like you don't have the equipment needed to work on it. Maybe you know someone nearby that has an eprom burner and some other tools?

I wish I could call myself a newbie (someday).  Looks like the windows are not covered so the chips may have loss their programming (Ian was going there I believe).  Missing chips perhaps at J1 and/or I2???   Looking at the last photo there may be some issues in the area of F4 - H4.

All I know is what I learn here and John's videos. No games yet Sad  So my advice is not even worth 2 cents Smiley

Good luck - perhaps you can find someone in the area to work with you to troubleshoot it.  Good luck!

Looking at it and my pcb the roms are windowed so that's normal although there may be a rom or 2 missing.
My board is a B&W so if yours is color then it may be different.
I would post a photo but I don't know how.

Seriously guys, now TWO people trying to save Space Fever?  So cool.

The two of you...your awesomeness knows no bounds.

I can only offer praise and encouragement, unfortunately.  But keep fighting the good fight!
