I acquired this cabinet - Ironically it has Johns Taito US Classic in it.
I THINK it was a Pac-Man once upon a time and my Plan is to restore it to a Pac-Man with an Arcade SD inside.
(all art and parts will be from Phoenix Arcade)
But before I do - I just want to make sure I am correct.
is it a Pac-Cab?  It has a Bally metalish sticker on the back.
and I don't think it was a galaga or Ms.Pac - they are so similar I would hate to do my first restore only to find out at the end... I did it wrong!

Any trained eyes out there that can confirm?

Thanks Fellas!

According to the sticky 'Cab ident chart' at the top of this category, Galaxian and Pac-Man are the same(ish) cabinet if I am reading that right.
So If I order a new Control panel and side art for pac-man everything will fit yea?

My PAC control panel is roughly 7"x23". Marquee is roughly 9"x23". Cabinet at deepest point is 33".

I can send PAC can pics if you want.

After a little googling and reading a few OTHER forum threads... it seems this EXACT thing has been asked time and time again.
From what I have gathered  Galaga/Ms. pac are the same (*Difference is Monitor angle and coin door position)
AND
Galaxian & PacMan are also near twins... with the same difference...
Apparently when Pac took off Bally/Midway initially was repurposing Galaxian cabs that were produced but not yet sold into Pac's to try and keep up with the demand.

So I THINK I can safely make the Pac without feeling as guilty as I do about having a 60 in 1 in my DK-Jr cabinet...  I know, I know, it wasn't me.

I'm sure you can make it into a beautiful PacMan that you will be very proud of!  Go for it. I can't wait to watch the progress.

Have you thought about actually restoring it to it's original state? Like restoring it to a galaxian?  I'm sure you could find a Pac man that actually was a Pac man originally.

Well Tom, If you knew what the arcade scene was here where I am... You would know that the come up for sale very seldom...  It is a miracle I was able to get the 8 I have.  Now-a-days anytime you see a cabinet it is for $2200 and has been gutted and has a 19" LCD and a 60 in 1 in it... Those do sell like hotcakes here!

So...  Since I am not a Galaxian fan and I already have a Galaga...  I want to do a Pac Cabinet.  with a Phonenix Arcade Multigame CP but looks like Pac CP and throw and Arcade SD in it.

So, I am only sort of restoring it... either way I am still going to defile it a little!  Muhahaha!
