Hey guys. So I am rebuilding an upright DK cab and I am wondering what wires I'll need for the inside. Does anyone know if buying Mike's arcade complete jamma upright solution kit along with mikes nintento to jamma adapter would be everything I need? It seems like it would be, but the thing I am getting hung up on is that the nintendo to jamma adapter has a video inverter on it. Wouldn't that make it unusable with the sanyo ez20? Sorry if you guys get this type of question a lot!

Here are the mike's arcade links to the products I am referring to.

I really appreciate the help. I just capped my monitor with Ian't kit. Thanks Ian!

The jamma adapter does have the inverter as well as the audio amp. Not the best solution for that. Also that wire kit is quite expensive. You can get a light from walmart for like $10, the jamma cables are $7. power supply will be $18. Don't need too much after that. For the adapter though, as long as you have the 2 board stack with the edge connector you should just pick up a fingerboard from jammaboards.com with the jamma harness he sells. Make up your own adapter so you can keep using the sanyo as is.

alternatively you can try to see if anyone on klov has a harness laying around. I bought a harness complete off of there once for like $60

I have been all around those forums and never been offered a DK wire harness for under 160 dollars. Good luck! They only seem interested in trying to rip off newcomers by pricing every old part like it's more valuable than a gold brick.

Hey guys!

Thanks for your feedback. I'm still really confused. Basically, I have a sanyo ez 20 and the original nintendo power supply/isolator which the monitor plugs into, and an original donkey kong pcb. So it sounds like my options are to convert it to a jamma cabinet, which would need a jamma to nintendo adapter (but not one with a video inverter since I am using the original monitor??). Or I can try to find original dk cables that plug directly into the board (which I haven't been able to find anywhere so far.) I think I'm getting lost when it comes to the jamma conversion stuff because I'm confused about the video inversion. Is there a place where I can read about this stuff as I am a total beginner when it comes to this stuff?

Thanks!

I dont think there is a place that will really help you out too much.

But you seem to have the jist of what needs to happen.

The best option is seriously to goto jammaboards.com Buy a finger board, edge connector and a jamma harness. Make your own adapter with the finger board and go from there.

That sounds good. But I'm not sure how to do that. I'll do more research. I'm sure there are some YouTube tutorials and what not.  Smiley And thanks, sounds like you may have helped save me a lot of money!

pretty much here is the tutorial

Buy some wire http://www.ebay.com/sch/remington_industries/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=
I recommend at something between 16 and 20 gauge. 20 is easier to work with, 18 is typically what is used for power. I bought the kits for like $40. wire almost never goes bad!

buy the finger board http://www.jammaboards.com/store/jb-3-jamma-fingerboard-adapter-jb-3.html
buy this connector http://www.jammaboards.com/store/44-pin-card-edge-connector-396mm-156-pitch-ec-44.html
this harness http://www.jammaboards.com/store/jamma-full-cabinet-wiring-harness-loom-jamma-h1.html

go here https://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/spies.cgi?action=url&type=pinout&page=Nintendo_Classic.html
and http://www.jammaboards.com/jcenter_jamma_pinout.html

There are the pinouts for the two you need to go between.

all you do is solder the connector to the NON jamma end of the finger board.
then run wires between each side using the holes in the finger board following the pinouts linked above
