What do you mean half of the connection is missing?
like the pad itself is damaged?
is it possible to solder to the pad even if its damaged?

yeah, the metal pad on the board that you solder to was half missing which i thought was strange there is still a connection through a multimeter so it might be ok but was wanting to make a better connection if possible.

I think you are better off trying to solder to that damaged pad than trying to hack something together on the board. less time you spend with the iron on the board the better off you are.

You are not stupid and even attempting to work on these old games is worth stating. Everyone starts somewhere and helping others is the best thing I could do.
