Today i had a little surprise i wanted to play a little round of good old MK1, but as soon as i pull the switch to turn the machine on, i heared a horrible electric sound. that scared the shit out of me i panicked, and shut the thing down... then it smelled like burned plastic or somethig. i think something near my monitor died? maybe i am wrong here are some fotos i took, where the smell was strong maybe you can help me once again?

you need to remove the neckboard and inspect it better than the photos you took. I don't see anything that looks burnt from those photos. Take the neckboard off and take another photo looking straight down on it. Also It would be nice if you can figure out what the monitor is.

I don't see any real signs of toasted parts. I can see the transistors are getting hot and the one with the bent tab should be dealt with in some fashion.
Just take a photo of the main PCB on the monitor and I should be able to figure it out. just need a photo of the whole pcb.

So a recap of this problem. The monitor works? You are having audio problems with the game?

I think your flyback is cracked. pull the whole PCB out. and take a good look at the flyback.

Wow, it looks like the connector on the left is lighting up as well.
I'm not familiar with that chassis.

Yeah i think i was looking at it the wrong way around. Where that light is coming from is not the flyback. You are most certainly going to want to look at the PCB and find out where that light is coming from.

Looking at that video makes me think that the isolation is broken behind the flyback. I think the flyback is sparking to ground on your board. So be carefull with removing the PCB and switching it on. You cannot be certain where is shorts out to when you put the board in a free space.
But hey, i'm not an expert.
