Minty Gyruss board troubles

A minty nice board arrived from a KLOV user, but my first tests are showing this:



When coined up the screen redraws removing the Gyruss title but no game play.

Hoping it's an easy fix, loose rom, something obvious, but so far I've not been able to make a difference.

I pulled all the chips on both boards, including the Konami chips twice, cleaned with an eraser, watched the screen as I pressed on chips and the board. Zero difference. : /

Can't believe I'm looking for a fourth time for a board! The first is likely beyond my skills, at least for now. The second was a boot, sent back. This was the third, and for the cost I really wanted it to be ready to go.

If I run into another long dry spell I may just do that with the original board that came with the cab.

What is the original board? Is it legit? What's going on with it. I know gyruss pretty well and might be able to help.
