I am a total newby to restoration of arcades. I love John's videos and needed a new hobby since my body doesnt allow me to be active in sports. I just purchased an asteroids (2 cabinets, no pcb's, missing 1 monitor and 1 wire harness) and a centipede. I would love to hear any and all advise on any topic related to the restorations that might help me. i have printed the manuals and have begun reading and diagnosing what is missing and what needs done. i have starting gathering the tools and parts(i know at i need). But i lack the knowledge. please help!

thanks!!

Well you need to get the manuals and go through each one to figure out what you need.

as far as tools, determine how serious you are about the hobby since the tools can be pricey. You will want a high quality soldering iron, expect to pay around $100. Such as a Hakko FX888D.
You will want to make sure you have all the standard tools, wire strippers, plyers, screw drivers. standard stuff.

There are links on this forum for all kinds of different vendors of arcade parts. TwistedQuarter, QuarterArcade.

For PCBs, ebay  and KLOV are your best bet.
