Anybody know any other alternatives to cut out slit for t-mold other than using a router?

router is your best bet for that job. you can get the slot cutter from harbor freight.

If it's small area that needs to be repaired you can (and I have) used a dremel.

places like T molding.com sell the bit you need..
not sayin you need to buy the bit from them.. but you get an up close look and what you need to buy as far as a t molding bit goes.
Last time I used that bit, I went to the guy that john got his dragons lair from and borrowed his for my MK2 control panel replacement.

yeah you can make that work.
It might flip around alittle on you as it has a narrow base but still.
practice on junk wood first

the cheapest place I have found to buy the T molding bit is from MLCS woodworking http://www.mlcswoodworking.com/ they sell the cutter, bearing and arbor together as a set for only $16.00 Free shipping. Every other place wanted double that amount... |

For the most common t molding, you will need the 1/16th cutter width, which diameter you need depends on the the shank size they are either 1/4" or 1/2" In my case, I bought kit #5341, a 1/4" bit to fit my router, which is this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/331251550793 works a treat. |
