1000 degree oven burns all the overlay off, then I sandblast the residue off.
The heat treater oven shaved some weight off the CP plus made it alittle stronger. so I killed 3 birds with one stone.
not touching it with my bare hands insures no greasy fingerprints to rust under my paint job.
10 minute job, no hassles with sanding the shit outta it or using nasty chems.
a lot of people don't know that sanding metal with your bare hands pushes oil into the steel making it rust again within a year.
the best way to counter that is to wash it down before you paint with vinegar or lemon juice .. it will neutralize rust.

tomorrow I am welding the trackball hole shut with steel and grinding it so it looks like it was never there.
I already cut a new piece of plexi so I have to cut the holes in that too.
