Are there technical differences between the DK, DK Jr, and DK3 boards that would preclude swapping ROMS to play the different games?

Upset that someone would suggest such a thing?  I warned you that this was possibly the dumbest question ever! ;)

The short answer is no. You can't easily Rom swap and convert the DK boards into other DK games. There is a hack to add to a Junior board (Double DK) but the Mario walk sounds are messed up.

You've talked about DDK like a million times, John...  I don't know why I thought it was be some simple ROM swap.

Sorry to waste everyone's time. :\

No questions stupid man.  We all learn from each other.  So far i have seen ZERO bashing on other people because they ask a question.  John has to dread seeing my name in his message box because I send him questions all the time.  This is a cooperative hobby.  We need each other to help keep this hobby and these great machines from our past alive.

Keep the questions coming bro!

the sound difference is played off as "you can't tell unless side-by-side" but the walking sound is too big of a difference.

such a lovely idea. expensive to convert though. thanks for the link.

If you have even a slightest clue what donkey kong sounds like you will get annoyed by DDK. plus the mod is so expensive its actually cheaper to buy a second board.
