When a screen has a fold (collapse?) like this , what are the usual suspects? Will a recap fix it or does it tend to be a pcb issue?

looks like you need to recap the monitor, my DK looked the same when I bought it, cap kit fixed it.

You could try to play with the vertical size pots on the game or monitor. But a cap kit will probably do the trick.
