Help with 412 in 1 board.

Hello friends, I wanted to know if somebody can help me out with this board. So I am i'm fairly new to the arcade scene and last year I bought a cabinet with a 60 in board, after a while I bought a 412 in 1 board, which I swapped for the 60 in 1 that I had, now when I swapped I noticed that I wasn't able to coin up or pretty much do anything it displayed the menu and everything else but I couldn't coin up or anything, so when I looked at my jamma harness I noticed that the previous owner of this cab had cut a bunch of cables and had somehow jerry rigged the cables so the board could work, but then I noticed that some of the cables that were needed for the 412 in 1 board were not there or they were just cut, so I bought a wired jamma harness from jammaboards.com and plugged everything back,   and there is nothing on the screen. I am using a pc power supply just like when I had the 60 in 1. Here is a pic of the jamma board wire map and the wire map that came with the harness. TL;DR Bought a new jamma harness because the last one had cables cut and some missing so when I plugged the 412 in 1 with the old harness it displayed everything but I couldn't coin up or move because it was missing some of the wires in the harness, then when I put the new harness  nothing shows up.

Hi,

First thing that comes to mind is check and triple check your jamma wiring, 50 plus wires it's so easy to get a few wrong, we've all done it/still do it.

Is it powering up?  Is it getting enough power, if you have a meter test the voltages,I'm using a switching power supply with mine, not PC, which is more normal in a jamma cabinet. Something like this http://arcadeshop.com/pics/spowers.jpg  Voltages can be adjusted, this unit is a bugger for needing it spot on.

You should have 2 dip switches near the black button on the blue unit, just play about with them, there's only 4 combinations.

Even try pushing the black button, in the manual this is the S1 button, that will take you into service menus.

Try plugging a VGA monitor in temporarily to the unit, again, play with the dip switches for this, if you get a display you are half way home.

The unit works off a SD card, try taking it out and putting it in again, mine sometimes needs this helping hand.


one more thing, although you have a wiring diagram with colours for wires, check that against the pins, not all harnesses follow the rules.

I had a 60 in 1, swapped out for 412 board, control panel didnt work.  I swapped out the cheap chinese jamma harness with a Bob Roberts Fully Loaded harness and didnt connect pin 27 and the opposite side from pin 27 as this board specifically says not to connect anything to that pin.

Had to make sure all the +5v and +12v lines were run, all the grounds were there (and tied together at the power supply for a common ground).

The 412 board manual has all the wiring pinouts that you need to connect.  It was a bit of a pain, but worked fine once I got everything hooked up right.

Also, remember that S1 is NOT P1 Start, I made this mistake.   "Why the hell isnt S1 working!".

As  lesoleil70 said earlier, S1 is a small black button on the PCB.

Alright Im trying to see if I have the pins in the right place which it looks like I do but then I realized that pin 2 which has ground looks different than the rest and I didn't plug it in, now I know this might sound stupid (bear with me its my first real arcade experience since my other arcade is a mame). Now everything looks fine except for that one which looks like this http://imgur.com/w4lEz2U,zoElbXQ,awQEUcW,dm2cFt4#0 the one im talking about is the black one. So where am i supposed to connect this one? also im waiting for the meter to finally get here, bought one online thanks to you guys
