I have action at a working punch out. Problem its missing the monitors. Guy wants 300 for the cab minus the monitors. How hard is it to locate these or should I try to get regular monitor and use an inverter? If I should just go with reg monitors what would be the best replacement to go with. Used of course. Don't have the 300 per monitor for those nice juicy new ones. Thx in advance.

Start looking for junk Nintendo cabs to get the 20EZs. That's about the only proper option.

In my area there are no Junk Nintendo Cabs they all are selling for 1000-1500. I actually got the Punchout last night. The owner was an amazing seller. He had a really nice almost restored Punchout and the missing monitor one. I bought them both for a killer pretty much 2 for 1. I am a little torn. I was thinking about converting the missing monitor punchout into a playchoice. Will a playchoice board be a direct swap with a punch out board? If so I might sell the punchout board, control panel, and marquee to pay for the conversion. But it seems criminal to do. So I might try to find some monitors and restore the punchout and sell it and buy a working PC only problem is I never see them for sale. I was going to buy one last night and the guy sold it to someone before I got there. I was miffed bcuz we had set a time for me to get it and I asked him and he said he had thought he sold it to me. Oh well.

I don't believe you. Smiley You're not looking hard enough. You need to do this EVERY DAY. Multiple times a day. If you want the deals, you need to work for them.

John, can you give some tips on finding games.. Is there anything special you do to find deals? I use searchtempest.com and it is pretty cool!  Smiley And of course Klov, Craigslist, and eBay.

john wishes games into existence, that is how he manages to get everything he wants.
At least for me, I browse KLOV often, and use a craigslist notifier.

I look several times a day. It's hard to find certain games. Nintendo especially. I drove six hrs for my Mario Bros game. I have noticed that Christmas had the most games for sale. And I have had good luck getting my Tekken. Sf2 and and a couple others from vendors looking to get rid of old games. 75 for a Tekken 2. 280 for a recapped sf2zback. So I know deals are out there. I just near see the nintendos out there.

It's about persistence. You need to check often. When I started out I was checking Craig's List every hour or half hour. It's all about right place at the right time. And, you need to try offering people lower money than they are asking. If you see a game on CL for a long time, make an offer. "I am interested in the game if you are willing to take $75.00. If this sounds good, please let me know. I can come tonight and I have a truck."

I think I bought three games on Criag's List last year. I spent about $200 total for them.

If you are serious about this hobby you also need to meet other collectors in your area. Collectors usually sell to other collectors and the games never make it to ebay or CL.

Just keep looking. If you want the game today, you're gonna pay. If you can wait for the you'll be better off. Smiley

I wish there were games local. All of my pick ups are 2-3 hours minimum one way.
