Vs Excitebike Turbo Power-Up

I picked up a Red Tent on the weekend and was playing through Vs Excitebike on a later level (4, 5, or 6) when my bike and rider suddenly turned black and red and I had infinite turbo until I crashed. I don't know how I got it. I remember wiping out another rider while I rode over a turbo cool-down arrow and then it happened. Has anyone else ever got this power up? How did I get it?

I remember hearing when I was a kid if you knock over a few (6?) other riders it will give you the unlimited turbo and change your color. I think John did a video as well about excite bike for Vs.

Cool. That would make sense with what I did. I'll test it out tonight!

Tried it out last night. Seems like if you knock down 5 riders without crashing, you get the power up, which lasts until you crash, even into the next track!
