John, a belated congrats on the Tony Hawk skateboard purchase.  Watching that vid made me think of my first "real" skateboard - meaning not one of those plastic pieces of crap you get at JC Penney.  It was a red aluminum Banzai board, like the one below.

I grew up with skateboarding but i have never seen one of the mid 70s alluminium boards. Only read about them in Laura Torbet´s book. This is a freakin´beauty and this is one i actually would never skate. (Unlike some wooden Tony Hawk/PP crap from the 80s)  Grin

My first one was my Uncle's hand-me down I had this when I was about 9-10, I put Garbage Pail Kids stickers all over it to improve it because I thought the pink was "Gay"- what a twat eh!

I have a first run powell peralta tony hawk and kevin staab.
Shoulda brought it with me and had them sign it at the xgames instead of my haro master frame.
