I picked up a Tron cabinet as a project.  Brought it home got it to power up and noticed that its missing sprites.  For example the player character only appears as two blue lines and in the light cycle stage the background doesn't show up.  Any ideas on what might be going on or what things i should start checking?  Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Well... I would make sure that the PCB is getting proper voltages.  If it is then I would re-seat every rom chip (I know one of those three PCB stacks is the sound board so you won't need to worry about that one).

Sounds like an eprom problem. I dont know which eproms are which on that game but it sounds like a sprite eprom is ether dead, not set right or has broken legs. Try pulling the eproms, inspecting each one and put it back. If no improvement you will need to start looking at maybe getting the eproms tested.
