I have a red tent that is not booting up. It gets power to the screens, one is completely white, and the other has a white dot in the center. I don't see any voltage coming out of the PSU, and am wondering if there is an isolation transformer issue as well. I have searched high and low and cannot find any good instructions on swapping in a new style switching power supply. I am a little scared because of the 100v these run on, and not sure how the -5 ties in. I know the 24v is just for the coin mech which I am not concerned with. I have seen the adapters for other nintendo machines on arcade shop but I am not sure of the compatibility of those either? Can anyone help me un-muddy the waters?
Are you sure your power supply is getting power?
Here's a trouble shooting guide on my site:
http://johnsarcade.com/vs_downloads/misc/VS_Power_Supply.pdfI would see if you can fix it first.
More manuals on the bottom of this page:
http://johnsarcade.com/nintendo_vs_ppu_info.phpThe power supply outputs standard voltages to the game board. The 24v is only for coin counter.
Here's the pinout showing the required voltages and where they go on the harness:

you should be able to connect the 9 pin power connector to any DK style power supply. I have never had to do it since mine has always worked, but a DK power supply should work.
