I downloaded a Jamma harness wiring diagram and hooked up my controls accordingly however, when I power it up and it goes to the game menu, the joystick does not work to allow me to navigate the game menu and none of the buttons seem to work either, with the exception of the ‘Test” button.

If I press the ‘Test’ button on power up it goes to the settings menu and at this point, the Joystick seems to work and allows me to navigate the settings menu however, none of the buttons work.

Can anyone give me a hint as to what would cause these symptoms?  Also, the wiring diagram shows pin 28 as Ground.  Where does this wire connect?

Thanks.

I would def' make sure your ground is connected. Grounds from buttons (each button gets a ground and a signal) go to the ground on harness.

If you are using one of the Blue elf type jamma boards, check the wiring as its slightly different than jamma, some grounds need to be tied together and one of the wires has to be disconnected, but not sure what you are connecting in this thread question.

Thanks guys.  I now have it working.  I did not connect the wire for the coin box because I don't have a coin box but what I didn't know was that I had to go into the settings and change the settings to 'Free Play' and 'Free Browse'.  Apparently if these settings are not changed, it won't even let you scroll through the game list without inserting a coin.  Works fine now!

Thanks again.
