Just to clarify, we are talking about a Nintendo VS. Board, if not you may not want to use my advice. First try to reseat all the ROMS. If that does not work, you may need to re-burn the ROMS (Nintendo Vs. uses 2764 Eproms). You will need either an EPROM eraser to erase the old EPROMS or just buy new ones. Also, you will need an EPROM programmer. After that, download the Vs. Super Mario Bros ROM files onto your computer and burn each file to each EPROM, making sure to place them back into the board in the right spot. If that does not work, maybe blkdog7 will know. He also has a video of how to burn EPROMS. I hope this helps you though, Jack from the COSMIC ARCADE

Thank you I will give that a try and see what happen. I forgot to add to my first post that I found one of the IC op amps burned up on the board,it look like it shorted out or something.

Maybe a leg shorted out on one of the EPROMS. A little voltage can go a long way, a double A battery can actually burn a house down when shorted.

Did it work before? And now it doesnt work? Do other games work in the cab? If it vs smb and its in a single monitor cabinet it needs to have the cpu dummy chip or jumper wire to work.

Yes it did work before and now it don't, it is a single cabinet minitor,I do not have another board to check.
What is the procedure for having the CPU dummy chip or jumper wire to work. Not sure what you or saying.

Do you have another board you can test? I would reseat everything, check voltages, etc. first.

If it already worked then you already have the cpu dummy chip on the otherside of the board. For vs smb, it needs either the dummy chip on the left side cpu slot or another game on the left side. Since yours worked before, you must already have it.

Post a picture of your PCB. He is saying there is a second CPU chip on the SMB PCB board if using in a unisystem.
