Interested to know how well they function for the old games.

it is nothing more than a standard LCD (gross) with an integrated converter, probably a decent one. I am sure it would work fine for most games while making them look like shit.

while they typically will function, LCD's look awful on classic games, there are sometimes lag and artifacts not visible when the games are used on the original displays.

Also when you take into account the Rohs solder's "tin whisker" problem, you will be lucky to get 10 years out of these new monitors before they die, So I'd take a 30+ year old burned-in CRT over an LCD all day long.
