I'm definitely in a dead zone. Occasionally there is a rare nugget of gold here or there, but for the most part, there is very little to choose from and prices are unnecessarily hyper-inflated.   Cry
3  General Category / Comments about John's videos and johnsarcade.com / Quantum? NO WAY! BUY THE LEPRECHAUN! on: July 01, 2014, 10:24:04 pm
So I was watching the Quantum vid....

...and ya know, was havin' a good time drinking my cold pop and watchin' the show...

...and then BAM! LEPRECHAUN! OMG WTF.

John... screw the Quantum. I want to see that Leprechaun in your basement, because frankly I think you need some creepy undead mormon kids in your arcade... and It would be great to see you panning around the basement.

"HEY GUYS! Today we're going to do a 2014 recap. Starting off, this is my Journey, this is my Robotron, here's my R-Type, 720.. and the pièce de résistance, my Leprechun."

I'll send you some Party Secrets if you buy it.

For anyone that has a Sega OutRun, here's a few brief videos I recently made:

Sega OutRun Part 1 - Adjusting the Accelertor & Brake Potentiometers
If you're unable to enter your initials on the high score screen of your 1986 Sega Outrun Arcade machine, it is most likely that you need to adjust your potentiometers. In this video, I show you how its done!

Sega OutRun Part 2 - Replacing A Broken Gear
In this video, I show you how to replace the KR-1127 gear on a Sega Outrun arcade machine. Replacing this gear is a typical work item on these arcade machine since they are prone to cracking. In this video, I walk you through a quick replacement of the gear!

I decided to go ahead and try to make another video. This is how I got my Black Knight to boot, which turned out to be a very similar problem that John had with his Black Knight, but a different root cause.

Welcome to the forums!

I've been looking for a 4 slot Neo Geo cab down in my area of the country, no such luck for a decent price. Good find!

What kind of condition is your TMNT cab in after it was converted in to the Golden Tee conversion? Are you planning to convert it back to TMNT or leave it as a Golden Tee?

Got to throw Marco Specialities for pinball machines for pins. Sometimes they carry the arcane "pinball specific" electronics parts that you need.

Hi Tarantulas,

For the last Nintendo cab that I did, I made my own. I had one when I bought the cab, but it was falling apart. Making your own is really easy.

Just got get yourself a piece of black poster paper from Staples/Office Max/Office Depot.. whatever.

Measure out the interior dimensions of the cabinet to get the width and height, then grab the measurements from the left, right, top and bottom to the monitor.

Then, take a ruler with an x-acto knife or a box cutter and cut to size.

There should be a bit of overlap from the bezel to the monitor, so just use some double sided tape to keep it in position.

Good luck!
