1  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Arcade and Video Game Discussions / 2 1/4" or 3" trackball on 60-in-1? on: January 16, 2015, 09:15:49 am
If you were building a 60-in-1, would you use a 2 1/4" trackball, or a 3"? Sure, it makes Centipede play a little slower potentially, but I'm heard the smaller trackball isn't much fun with Millipede... thoughts?

I think I'm going to pull the trigger and order one.

I'll be sure to document the build.

I've got a Galaxian cabinet that I'm thinking about converting (part time) to a 60-in-1.... which means updating the CP.

Saw this online, and it looks like a good solution.

Where is the best place to buy a NEW 120V to 100V transformer?

Should I even worry about replacing it?

In a DK cabinet, does the 100V for the monitor just come straight off the stepdown transformer, or is it coming from the PSU?

Where is the best place to buy a replacement 120V to 100V transformer?

I've got a TKGT... that's the on third from the left.

I'm wanting to find a replacement for the yellowish little plastic "collar" located right under the ball.

I have an original TKGT Stick (https://www.mikesarcade.com/arcade/njoysticks.html) that has a damaged plastic "collar."  Does anyone sell replacements?

Thanks!
8  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Best strategy for damaged DK CPO? on: August 23, 2014, 09:42:41 pm
I've got a pretty rough CPO that I need advice on.

It's got a lot of chipping damage at the bottom on the outward facing edge from years of abuse, plus a laminate that appears to be applied with whatever it holding "The Donald's" hairpiece on.

What's the best way of cleaning this up for a restore?  Bondo wood filler, and some sort of stripper to take off the old laminate?  I purchased a new vinyl kit from TheOldGame that I'd like to use.

As always, thanks for your expertise!

I've read on KLOV that the locks are 5/8" on the back door and 7/8" on the door.  But that guy seemed like he didn't know for sure, and no one else posted in the thread :\

On John's DK restore, he ordered the following for his coin door... and the key is the same type as the one I found floating around inside my cabinet (after the original owner drilled the back lock out).

No idea.... I watched an older video of John's the other day where I finally saw the side-art on his DK Jr...

And the Dragon's Lair video cleared up how to hold the monitor in place while you're applying the art, and to avoid twisting the bolts while tightening everything back down.

Looking to bring my DK Jr cabinet back from the hacked up bypass the previous owner installed.

Let me know what you've got!

Thanks!
14  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Nintendo coin door / back door lock size? on: August 12, 2014, 06:04:27 pm
On my DK Jr. cabinet, the back lock was drilled out by the previous owner, and the lone key I found in the cabinet doesn't seem to work in the coin door.  So I'm guess I'm drilling the other one out and starting over from scratch.

So.... on classic Nintendo cabinets, are the locks 5/8" or 7/8"?  Are the locks the same size, or different sizes between the two locations?

Is there a replacement that's "nicer" than others?

Thanks again, guys!

15  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Nintendo CPO bolts? on: August 01, 2014, 03:23:01 pm
Mike's Arcade is consistently out of stock and Quarter Arcade's $15 + shipping minimum order policy seems silly in my opinion for 10 bolts.

So where can people find Nintendo CPO bolts?
