1  Other Stuff / Physical Media Vs. Digital Media / Re: Lets discuss Physical media vs Digital media. Let us know what prefer & why on: August 01, 2024, 10:54:37 am
I get why people want to own games. At the same time when I see a movie I usually never care to see it again. The exceptions are classics like Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, and Princess Bride.  I don't really care about that media.

Wish I had the will to go, but the kids make it a lot of work. LOL. It's my birthday on Friday too.

Looks like a smashed monitor. I can't see how it's displaying anything

I use this type of tool to remove solder - it's an iron, and it heats up. Makes for cleaner removal IMO
Cheap at Radio Shack, too

^^^^^
This is the tool for recapping monitors. It really saves a lot of time because it melts and removes solder with one hand. The Soldapullt requires two hands: the soldering iron and Soldapullt. Then you need to put down your soldering iron to cock the Soldapullt for each capacitor leg. Plus both tools are the same price, $15 so you might as well get the desoldering iron.

Tighe gave me one of these and I hate it. I prefer the Soldapullt. Smiley
LOL to each there own, even if I had that Hakko like John got I'd probably still use this more as it's so simple and light. If I had the desoldering station is probably use it more. That Hakko is just so big.

The PCBs are slightly different so can't be converted.
Regardless all of the Midway games from MK3 onwards have a protection chip (a PIC16C57 microcontroller) and you can't simply swap ROMs to get a new game.
I have an MK4 in a JAMMA cab which also has Ultimate MK3. Maybe I'll sell it if the price is right ;-)
Email me....
This is not true Broodwich swapped ROMs and the cpld from my bad MK4 to an invasion board he had to get my MK4 working.

The best thing in my opinion for removing adhesive is a big can of acetone. It's combustible so make sure you have ventilation. It's the same stuff women use to remove nail polish, it's also not going to hurt you as it's not toxic although it isn't pleasant to breath in. You can buy it in the paint section at Walmart for cheap.

Goo gone don't use I've made that mistake it soaks into the wood and nothing will stick to it.

This might be all they made
If you look at that flyer it's just a crap drawing because the upright sheriff has no speaker grill which makes me think they might have the colour and art wrong on this cocktail.
Who knows I'll find out Tuesday and post lots of pictures

Cheers
Either way I am jealous!

This is a rare cab and I can't wait to see inside
I am sure it will be a Nintendo sheriff inside
The owner said there is still a Japanese cigarette inside  Shocked cus it has ashtrays on the side.
This is bizarre I own two now and I've been looking for this one for years.
I hope my friend Tighe  manages to find one now.
There out there.
Looking at the artwork it is the Nintendo art! And it is surely a Japanese cabinet. What is weird is that the cabinet shape is the same as the Sega cocktails like this. When you have this I want to see the serial plate!

Nice looks just like the Sega carnival and head on cocktails.

Really hope I see the Nintendo version some day.
