1  Nintendo Talk / NINTENDO VS. FORUM / Re: K6510 keys help on: January 18, 2014, 11:37:48 am
Did you get your keys?
I bought mine on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/360773654120?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_152wt_1362

The price for just the keys was almost the same price as a key set with cam lock so now I have a spare cam just in case one breaks Smiley
when I got my keys I opened mine up to find about $20 worth of coin all over the bottom of the unit as well as a key that works on all the doors hahahahah I have no idea how it was locked in there guess the owner locked the spare in the unit

and yes the coin drop doors run on there own set of keys and I have no idea about them I had one lock on one so I just drilled that one out

hope this helps Smiley

2  Nintendo Talk / NINTENDO VS. FORUM / Nintendo Vs Fuses on: January 16, 2014, 01:43:43 pm
Hello all Just looking to find out which fuses im going to need when I start working on my Nintendo Vs dual cocktail

I have the new fly back, hot, cap kits, sound caps thanks to Johns recommendations of bob Roberts
but he does not stock fuses for the unit,
will I be able to get them from any normal run of the mill hardware store or is this going to be an epic search?

also when I go to discharge this unit is it still ok to attach clamp to the steel frame surrounding the tube?
this unit is all steel and is why I ask

John how do you ground your tent if you need to put a little elbow grease into her?
also if you know about the fuses names that will help me out on my scavenger hunt

thanks all Smiley

if you still want to sell your red tent I am from Canada and could probably take it off your hands for parts
any idea what you want for it?
or have you completed the meme project on it?
4  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Play Choice 10 Audio Humm and Screen Scramble on: January 10, 2014, 02:59:05 pm
This is the last 2 issues with my PC-10

1. getting an audio hum from speakers, when I turn up the volume the hum turns up with it everything in the cab looks well grounded (Green tape leading to every device ending at bottom of the cab)
Is this a bad wireing problem?
is this in need of new caps?

2.when I start the unit up the bottom screen seems to have a v-hold problem or at least that's what it reminded me of as a kid when watching a crt tv. I have toggled every color and screen button with no results
what dose yield results is unplugging and then replugging the visual leads problem solved till you want to switch games then its back to the unplug replug routine
after a half hour of being on the issue resolves itself until turned off for a period of time
is this bad wireing problem?
is this in need of new caps?

thanks again to responders

i guess if id have to choose it looks a lot like the second photo link but it is a plastic inter casing not metal
perhaps it was gutted and replaced that would be my guess
so you said the second one is a standered?
where coild i get them?
7  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Play choice 10 coin accepter information (Solved) on: January 08, 2014, 10:36:21 pm
Kind of a noob at all of this but got one side working on my play choice 10 coin accepter Smiley
well actually both side work, I can flick the base thing a ma bob to get credit and so on both but when I bought the unit it was missing one of the plastic guide piece that tunnels the coin to the drop box or rejects a bad coin (hope I described it well) on my unit its the tan colored part between all the metal stuff. so I guess my question is are all arcade coin guides the same or do I need a specific fitting one made for the PC-10 which ever way id also like to know where to get one what they are called so I can better search for one
also any information on the coin accepter coin sine/art what should it look like (the piece of paper that is lit up and usualy tells you what denomination of coin should go there) on mine they are different want the unit to look as close to factory as possible Tongue I know im being picky but I am OCD when it comes to my collection

thanks to any and all that reply Smiley

9  General Category / Introduce Yourself / Avid_e_o_Gamer here hopeing i can learn some new things help welcomed on: January 07, 2014, 03:16:36 am
I just bought 2 new arcades this month probably because I am in love with all things Nintendo
the first was the Nintendo vs dual system and the second was the dual screen play choice 10 (what a great month for collecting) and might I say I am in love with both and am hoping to have them both fixed up and cleaned up as soon as possible
The Vs system I had no idea existed until a friend of mine added me to his facebook group and that was the first thing I saw was his repost of a kijiji add of a guy selling one. I did a little research on the unit and was hooked within seconds so I traveled for 3 hours there and back to pick it up and I was not disappointed until the unthinkable happened. I had the unit playing for over two hours staring playing reliving my youth when I heard a loud pitched squeal followed by a pop and a burning smell all within 2-5 seconds petrified I pulled the plug to later try to power the unit back up but no such luck one of the 2 screens dose not power on at all no line no neck glow no nothing. upon further inspection I found a device in the back attached to the thing a ma jig (it was and still is kind of new to me)(PCB) that looked seared or oven roasted which I later learned was called a flyback. I now think I have found the problem and set off on a mission and let me tell you it was not easy sifting through piles of internet information looking for that grain of hope. some sites told me that the screen was a sanyo easy 20 others told me a sharp xm1801 (xm2001 transformer) I think im convinced that more sites told me that it was the sharp unit and have since placed my order so I can attempt a repair and that is now where I stand with it

any and all advice would be greatly appreciated in regards to this repair I have watched a few videos on how to do this repair

grounding the unit
desodering the flyback
sodering the flyback

any curveballs I should expect to run into? could there be more then the flyback wrong? some friends told me to test the current on things but I don't know where to start with that and im not gonna poke my fingers where they don't belong until I feel comfortable about doing it and have the right tools for the job

and now the play choice 10

for the most part the unit is functioning except when first powered on the bottom screen is jarbaled up but if I go around the back and pull the screen plugs (sorry don't know what they are called) and plug it back in presto all is well until I want to select another game or wait over an hour and then the problem becomes less and less when switching between games

any ideas on what could be wrong?
some friends told me to just replace the plastic plugs and wire and it should be ok is this the issue?
also having an issue with sound feedback how do I cut the humming from the speakers? just replace them wires as well?

any help would be greatly appreciated I truly hope I can learn the trade so I can then help others with the same problems and that are in need

thanks again
