1  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Arcade and Video Game Discussions / Restoration Hardware (Arcade games) on: November 12, 2014, 04:48:06 pm
I thought this was interesting via Restoration Hardware".  I saw this via the Holiday magazine.  However, the website says the games are no longer available.  I thought it was funny price wise; over 3 grand for each!!!

2  Tech and Marketplace / For Sale / Wanted / Trade? (jukebox for?) on: June 02, 2014, 03:02:36 pm
Hey guys (john's arcade tradmark)  Grin

I have a AMI-ROWE-MM1-CD-Jukebox 1995 model that I was looking to sell but thought maybe someone here would like to trade an arcade for it?  This trade would be for the Southern California area.  However, if you are just looking to buy a jukebox we can talk about that as well.

Details about the box;

-Currently it has a few CD's inside, holds up to 100 CD's, powers up, The CD Mechanism spins and will select a new CD,  lights come on (needs a few of the smaller bulbs replaced similar to coin doors), currently sits on 4 casters for easy movement.

-Bad news; no volume is coming out of the speakers, and there is an error indicator flashing.  I have the manual and paperwork that came with the jukebox.  It may be an easy fix, but I rather have more games and this takes up too much space in my garage.

-Width wise it is about the size of two Ms Pacmans and probably weighs about 400lbs.

Thanks

Joshua

Well it has been a while since I posted.  A lot has change in my little garage arcade with a few additions and deletions.  My latest pick up is a Trilogy Arcade game and a 720.  I like the mix of classics and some of the 90's stuff.

So my arcade now consist of;

-Ms Pacman
-Spiderman (set to 2 player mode)
-Centipede
-Street Fighter 2 Anniversary edition
-Gaplus
-StarWars Trilogy
-720

I'll see about adding a photo later.

Anyone have any leads for Gaplus/Galaga 3 artwork, Bezel, or control panel overlay?  I have searched all over the net and can not finding anything.  =(

Well, I found a nice Galaga project cab.  So this worked out even better.

Hey guys, wanted to get some thoughts on this idea.

Would a Gondomania upright be a decent candidate for converting to either a galaga 88 or Gaplus/Galaga 3?  Gondomania is a vertical orientation jamma +.   I was thinking I could get a jamma adapater for Galaga 3 since galaga 88 is already jamma.   I do realize I will need a different control panel for either the Galaga 88 or Gaplus/galaga 3 games.

What do you guys think?  Or have a better idea, toss it my way.

It works!  Well, my initial understanding on what I was doing was correct.   The problem was the bulb supplied with the trackball was not bright enough.  Changed bulb...boom stick!!!

Hence, why all my coin door and power questions.  I just could not understand what I was doing wrong.

Another learning experience.

Ok, Thanks for the info Stevespeeze.

I would be intrested in learning how you you lit the trackballs directy from the 12v power lead.

That's the part I am uncertain with "tapping into the coindoor power".  Do I cut the current connection wires and make new female connectors with the new trackball wires included?
15  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Wiring up illuminated trackball in Centipede on: January 09, 2014, 01:16:14 pm
Hey guys!

I have a centipede cabinet that I have made some quick repairs/updates on (new marquee lights, coin lights, trackball, fire button etc).  I have an illuminated trackball which I installed.  However, I need to connect to a 12V source in order to light up the ball.  The one and two player lights are only 5V.  So I need to connect via the coin door.

Trying to draw power from the coin door is very new to me.  I am not sure how this is done.  Any tips or suggestions?
