1  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Gameplay strategy and high-score discussions / Galaga! on: August 29, 2013, 07:19:18 am
Figured I'd start off, with my Galaga scores as Galaga in all of it's incarnations are probably my favorite games of all time. Digdug is a close second, but Galaga has always been my first love.  Unfortunately, I'm at work, so, I'll post pictures later today.

Galaga 88: 120510 <=== Most recent.
Galaga: 320430 <=== Most recent.

I want to do a high-score contest soon with prizes... stay tuned.
Hi score = most games fixed or what? Fastest time to cap a G07 chassis?
For games, silly rabbit.

That's what I figured. And seeing as I'd probably spend $40 transporting each one in fuel, it's not worth it.  Got an original Glaxian for $75 today, no PCB, and in rough shape...  But, I'm stoked to get to work on that bad mama.

Also, just so everyone here knows, Bob's computers crapped out and he's been down for a few days.  Also, when you send him emails, make sure you are sending from a real email address and not some hotmail or gmail garbage as those are generally flagged as spam by most mail servers.

Depending on who I talk to about this game, it's either desirable or the scourge of the Earth. I'm contemplating buying a pair of them (should be able to combine the two and make a single really nice working one) for $225. I think the price might be a bit high, since I'd have to make two trips to get them both, etc etc.  Any thoughts?

BTW, this purchase would be for a complete restore/resell project, I have no interest in owning this game.
6  Tech and Marketplace / For Sale / Wanted / WTB: Galaxian PCB. on: August 27, 2013, 07:41:58 am
Just snagged an original Galaxian cab, great tube, no board.  Anyone have some PCB goodness kickin' around? I'd rather not go to eBay.

Hey John,
We've been talking about a new forum section in the General Discussion board, here's the link to that topic:

I may or may not be the only one on here that this has happened to, but I would not recommend firing up the monitor if you know there is a crack in the tube.  There is a small chance, but they can explode. It is VERY dangerous to work on tube monitors if you don't know what you're doing.  I don't want to come across as a dick, but I don't want to hear about people getting hurt.  Make sure you read up a ton on safety before you start messing with a tube.

13  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Arcade and Video Game Discussions / High Scores? on: August 23, 2013, 10:40:09 am
Hey everyone!

I thought it might be fun to have a high score/strategy section.  Where people can talk different game strategies, i.e. wait until level 2 to get your twoship in Galaga, or do it on level 1, or how to bunch up the ghosts in Pacman, etc.  High scores I thought would be self explanitory.  Post pictures!

15  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Re: Flaky acting Sega Turbo on: August 23, 2013, 07:26:35 am
So... your voltages are too low.  Rebuild/replace your power supply.  You should be getting 5.2 to 5.4 on the board... Check your molexes and cables for crimps or frays too...
