I'd consider a tube swap if I thought the boards would all work, but I haven't found a good source of information on compatible TVs. I found this document but it only lists one Sanyo model for the k4900. Is there a reason the other 19" models will not work?

I have a Qbert with original WG k4900 with lots of burn in. Is it possible to swap in any other 19" crt since it's pretty near impossible to find another without burn in? Can I take a generic 19" TV tube and attach it to the board in my k4900? Are there differences with the sync or rgb connections, neck board, etc...  I should be concerned about?
3  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Advice on keeping game healthly on: December 10, 2016, 01:13:01 pm
Hi forum gurus. I'm a new owner of a classic Qbert. This is my first arcade cabinet and I'm looking for some advice. As a noob, what should I do to keep my system healthy and running? I know there are some initial things I should look at like recapping the power supply. Are there other recommendations? Would you recommend I keep it powered off when I'm not using it or does switching it off and on regularly damage the system?

I grew up in the 80s spending all of my allowance on Tron,  Qbert,  Ms. Pacman,  , Crazy Climber,  etc.... I've always wanted to own a few classic arcade games but didn't really have the money or room.  As I'm starting to push 50, I'm reprioritizing my life and want to make owning a least one game part of it. My first target....  Q*Bert. John's YouTube channel has inspired me.
