1  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Golden Tee Fore 2003 help needed on: December 01, 2016, 11:11:42 pm
Ok so I recently acquired a 2003 model with a red board and hard drive.  It has what appears to be a brand new monitor, a Ceronix 2793 CGA.  The cabinet is in pretty amazing condition needing just some minor touch up and detailing.  The owner said it stopped working and just didn't want to bother trying to get it fixed.  I fired it up and it started right up without any issues.  It runs the attract mode just fine with great picture quality and sound.  The first issue I'm having is that the picture is sitting off to the left about 1 1/2 inches leaving a black border on the right side of the screen while part of the left side is out of view.  I have adjusted all of the pots and can't get it to move to the right anymore than it already has.  The monitor boards all seem to be in perfect condition.  The second issue is that I can start a game, select the amount of players, and choose a course just fine.  After the announcer makes a comment about the golf course however, the game freezes and will not load any of the courses.  I have already purchased a new hard drive and updated eprom but it continues to have the same issue.  I swapped out the power supply for a more powerful 600W one and no change.  My final conclusion is that the video card is potentially bad.  Does anyone have any other ideas or suggestions??  I'm new to the hobby and my knowledge is limited at this point.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey all.  Grew up in the 80s as a huge arcade fan but have recently started with the hobby.  Currently working on my first three games that I recently purchased for dirt cheap.  I'm also a game collector owning hundreds of games for multiple systems.  Been a long time fan of John's Youtube channel and hope to become a regular part of the community.
