Can anyone give me the dimensions of the instruction cards for the Nintendo Vs red tent? I am almost finished with my restoration and want to have some printed on cardstock.

Good luck brother. I see them pop up on ebay every now and again. Sometimes someone sells them on KLOV too if you haven't joined that forum yet. You can monitor for sale items with the tapatalk app on your phone. Good luck! (Don't do the computer monitor thing. Hold out for a tube monitor!)

Bought a grinder today, but I'll give it a shot Terry. Thank you my friend!

I don't really know what to say about this. SCREWDRIVER?!?!
John, you know how frustrating your Tempest is right now? That's where I am with the damn screws. Most broke loose easy as pie. For some reason these four will not budge.

I braced the monitor and actually got on top of it with my full body weight trying to break these things loose. I'm going to get a Dremel and just grind the bastards. It looks like they used some kind of green colored lock tight on these at the factory and someone was over zealous.

I tried heat, torque, tapping, solvent, lube channel locks and everything under the sun. I was hoping someone had a moment of insight during a red tent restore.

What monitor? Photo?
The red tent montors. The two screws on the front under the adjustment pots and the two on the bottom (so I can remove the board to re cap it.

I tried solvent, heat gun,  different screw drivers, tapping them, moving the monitor for leverage. They are rounded so I can't grab them with vice grips.

I'll grab a pic at lunch.

For the love of God does anyone have a tip to remove the larger screws from the monitor chassis?

Capping the monitors and trying to get the screws out so I can cap the board. There are two that are stuck and won't budge for anything!

9  Tech and Marketplace / For Sale / Wanted / WTB Nintendo Vs PPU or Daughter Cards on: October 25, 2016, 03:23:27 pm
I rescued a red tent that was rotting in to the ground in a barn for 11 years. The top had a lot of surface rust, but the legs were gone. I fabricated the new legs and sent it all off to be powder coated. I am very excited since this has been a grail item of mine since I first saw it on John’s arcade. The only problem is the game has baseball on both sides and that is it. Not the most exciting of games.

The two games I desperately want are Mario Bros and Castlevania, but they are way outside of my budget on Ebay so I was hoping to find the PPU for a couple of games and have a friend reprogram the ROMs.

PPU
RP2C04-0003 (Excite Bike)
RP2C04-0004 (Vs Mario)
RP2C03B (Tetris)

Or either of the following daughter boards/PPU
Castlevania
Top Gun

Thanks!

Such an awesome game! Definitely one of my top 10 favorites. I've heard the cabinet is fickle. Good luck! Let me know how it goes!

Can anyone give some details on how to do the raised "Centuri" logo? John did one on his Gyruss and it really pops, but he skipped that part in the video. Is it bare metal or painted? How is it done?
