1  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Donkey Kong 6P & 6R RAM error on: June 01, 2016, 12:41:41 pm
I have a that has a 2 board set.  It also has a braze high score save kit installed.  When I boot up the CAB it gives me the following error on the Braze bootup screen.

6P: BAD 22
6R: BAD

Other than that the game plays fine and I have all the character sprites.  The only thing I see on screen that is messed up are some of the beam platforms on the first level have small black cracks in them.  All the sounds in the game work fine.

Pulled the boards and looked at the video board at intersection 6P/6R and noticed they are both D2148H-3 ram chips by intel soldered in.

How do I go about pursuing the ram issue?  This is my first arcade machine and I come from the world of IT help desk troubleshooting.  Could my ram issue be upstream from the actual 6P/6R chips?  I just find it hard to believe both these RAM chips perished at the same time.  My last question is, where do I even buy a D2148H-3 chip?   I don't feel I can go into a RadioShack parlour and they have it on the shelf type of thing.  Smiley
