1  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Re: 2 Player 412 in 1 Jamma Board Help Needed. on: June 14, 2016, 08:29:04 am
Thanks guys.  Its working now. Somehow, one of the ground wires slipped off of the joystick and that disconnected everything on the player 2 side from ground.  It was just barely off of the lug so it was not easy to spot.  Thanks again.

2  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / 2 Player 412 in 1 Jamma Board Help Needed. on: June 02, 2016, 09:57:36 am
I built a cocktail style arcade with 2 sets of controls for Player 1 and Player 2 including buttons to select 1 Player or 2 Players.   I installed a 412 in 1 Jamma board and wired it up according to the wiring diagram from the retailer.  Upon completion I went into the System menu and made a couple of changes such as setting it to Free Play and Free Browse. The player 1 side works fine with no apparent problems but nothing on the Player 2 side works at all.  Using the joystick or buttons does absolutely nothing. When I go into the System setup menu everything seems to relate to “Player 1” but I don’t see anything related to “Player 2”.

Any suggestions as to where I should be looking to find the problem with the Player 2 controls?

Thanks.

Thanks guys.  I now have it working.  I did not connect the wire for the coin box because I don't have a coin box but what I didn't know was that I had to go into the settings and change the settings to 'Free Play' and 'Free Browse'.  Apparently if these settings are not changed, it won't even let you scroll through the game list without inserting a coin.  Works fine now!

Thanks again.
5  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / General Arcade and Video Game Discussions / Help with JAMMA wiring harness. on: May 28, 2016, 02:43:10 pm
I downloaded a Jamma harness wiring diagram and hooked up my controls accordingly however, when I power it up and it goes to the game menu, the joystick does not work to allow me to navigate the game menu and none of the buttons seem to work either, with the exception of the ‘Test” button.

If I press the ‘Test’ button on power up it goes to the settings menu and at this point, the Joystick seems to work and allows me to navigate the settings menu however, none of the buttons work.

Can anyone give me a hint as to what would cause these symptoms?  Also, the wiring diagram shows pin 28 as Ground.  Where does this wire connect?

Thanks.

Well,...  again no replies to my posts but,... for anyone else who may have the same problem,  I discovered on another site that I need to place an L-Pad between the board and the speakers.  This works!

No replies here but I did manage to find a small article that explains about pressing a test button.  I'll try that and see what happens.

What is the easiest way to hook up an external volume control for the JAMMA 412-In-1 rather than having to open up the arcade cabinet and adjust the on-board volume control?

Thanks

I am trying to build an arcade game for my grandchildren so I purchased a 412-In-1 JAMMA board.  It comes with instructions on how to use it, (navigate the menu and play games), but it is my understanding that there are certain things on the JAMMA board that need to be setup, once it has been installed, for example, Coin operation or Free play etc.  Can anyone steer me toward some kind of information to tell me everything that needs to be set up and how to set it up?

Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
