1  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Re: Monitor shipping on: November 09, 2015, 04:08:53 pm
Thanks for the reply. The thing different is that the one i shipped was complete with the metal frame and the electronics hanging off the neck of the tube.

im thinking they either dropped it or drove the truck down a set of railroad tracks.
The buyer said the box wasnt damage. If i ship another one ill frame it up like in your picture but still need to figure out what to do about the weight of the board on the end of the neck.

Don't know if this is where this goes. Just recently shipped a CRT monitor to someone. Had it sitting in the box right side up and the neck broke off during shipping. I didn't want to put anything under the neck in fear that it would put pressure on the neck and cause the same result. Should I have packed it face down or is there another way to do it?

OK I'm going to be selling some parts from a Nintendo vs red tent. I will get some pictures and part numbers with prices.
It will consist of the following parts.

2 CRT monitors
PCB board with Mario bros. And ice climber
2 coin mechanisms
Main power supply without plug for monitors
Secondary power supply for 5-24vdc
Transformer
And possibly some other stuff if I missed any thing

Once I get the parts and creatures out of the cabinet I'll clean them up and get some pictures and put up some prices.

OK I check the voltages. The 5v sides were 4.89 to 4.91 the 12v side was just under 12 and I checked it with each one of the grounds. Forgot to check it on as though. And as I was typing this I realize I checked it at the edge connector on the wire side when I should have found a way to check it on the board. But anyway I'm not seeing movement of the voltages that coincide with the screen blink. Any other ideas?

Recently I picked up a red tent that someone was throwing away. Some of the buttons are jammed but figured I'd get to that after I get it working. Today I had some free time,so I we decided to see if it would do anything when I put power to it. I turned it on and right away it strarted crackling around both the monitors so I turned it off, unplugged one of the monitors and tried again. After about a minute of being powered it stopped so I plugged in the other monitor and left it powered until it stopped. One of the monitors just blinks with a red screen the other blinks with the game screen. Its like the game keeps resetting. When the screen shows the game it will register the coin switch and if I'm fast enough the button for the players but once it goes black and comes back on it shows no coins again. Any insight would be appreciated.
