So after tweaking the monitor a little bit this is the best I can get the monitor to look... It is soooo blurry... when I try and adjust the focus on the flyback the screen just turns bright white if I turn it up too high. I messed with the convergence rings, degaussed the monitor, etc... and I just can't get it to look any better. Any ideas?

Had a monitor that was totally dead... replaced the flyback, hot and a cap kit. Now the tube comes on, but the screen is just red... with a little blue and green creeping in. I know I have to degauss it, but I honestly don't think that is going to fix it 100%. I tried adjusting every knob on the chassis and the picture just stays red. I don't see anything in any of the flow charts I've been looking at that help. I don't know where to go from here... any ideas?

I did see the attract mode working (I could see something move on the screen, but was hard to make out) at one point until I started tweaking knobs so I think the tube is getting picture correctly from the PCB. What's on the screen in the image I attached is just burn-in...

I've been slumming eBay for a PVM and they range anywhere from $50-$300... Are there any that I should totally stay away from or any PVM is fine for the most part? I am thinking about getting a PVM-8041Q or 8042Q and just want to make sure they aren't total garbage.

Short answer... I don't have another 2002 board to try the HD on. I tried using the 2002 HD and 2002 security chip on my 2005 board and it is complaining of a software mismatch (even though when it loads it shows the sec chip=HD version). I'm guessing there is something else updated on the board showing it as a 2005 instead of 2002, so it won't load the old HD even though I have the matching security chip.

This is my first ever cabinet so I'm really new at all this, but the board honestly is in great shape... not sure what the heck could be wrong with it. I don't see any cold solder points or bad traces, etc...

I have a Golden Tee 2002 board that gets stuck right after it detects a hard drive and won't do anything else. Anyone have an experience with GT machines and might know what to look at? It has to be board related because I bought a 2005 board on ebay and it works perfectly. Plus I've already checked voltages, etc. I also know it isn't a bad boot EPROM because I'm using the EPROM in my 2005 board. That doesn't mean that socket isn't bad though... any pointers would be much appreciated. It would be sweet to get the old board working.

nvm looks like I can maybe connect a BNC connection to it and it has enough wires on it to connect to JAMMA... I'll have to research some more... hopefully I don't kill myself. 

Yea, I wasn't banned or anything for doing something wrong. When I created my account it's like it auto disabled the account because I was never able to login and even get to the read only account status... somehow it broke during registration. The kingdbag account works fine on the non-forum part of the site and VAPS and all. I don't know of anyway to get a hold of an admin so after like 3 months of not being able to get anywhere I just went ahead and made a new account...

I will just stop using my VAPS for kingdbag and it should auto delete after I don't use it for awhile... not sure what the is with that account... sucks I can't use kingdbag though.

What is the best option for setting up a test monitor? Get an old crappy CRT or something?

kingdbag is my account on KLOV... let me know if you have any trouble getting it activated because it seems like that account doesn't exist on the forums, but I have a VAPS profile and everything. It says that's what my username is under my profile on http://www.arcade-museum.com/accounts/settings.php... so I'm not sure what happened.
