I've done some more digging I unplugged the pcb though I think it might already be shot I've started testing voltage on the ar2 it self I'm getting like -12.26 from the -5vdc test point and get 10.12 from the sense test point the 36vac test points I'm getting 17.6 from and the adjustment knob doesn't seem to affect any of this voltage
update: I plugged in a non working pcb for resistance and I tested the sense again getting 7.86 from there also tested the +5v on the pcb it self it's running 7.86 also and turning the adjuster doesn't seem to do anything
Thought I should also add I have the game set to free play and the cone buttons are not blinking like they are supposed to and there is no sound also I can get test mode to work either
Ok the centipede was working fine yesterday I decided to do an ar2 rebuild using one of Ian's kits all went well no issues so I reinstalled the ar2 after rebuild now the screen is blank sometimes and some times it comes on with green or yellow full screen static here is a photo please tell me I didn't break it I just bought this pcb
anybody know a good site that has a crash course in checking logic on an arcade mainboard ive got three boards for this cabinet id like to get them all working
OK, so i finally got around to looking at this issue checked all the fuses and the voltages it all seems good i then swapped boards with the board i have with grphic issues that board boots up fine but the board i had that was working just lights up the marquee and coin slots and buttons but no test mode no sounds nothing what could cause this is all the voltages are good? any ideas?
So I turned on my centipede today it was working fine I walked into the next room and came back now it's all lit up but the monitor is blank my first thought was maybe the monitor died but I get no sounds and the controls show no response I tried test mode also I'm getting no beeps nothing could the power supply die but allow the controls and the marquee to lite up? Any help would be great thanks trying to figure out where I should start the psu is original nothing had been changed other than I put a cap kit on the monitor a couple months ago and I purchased a working board
I did i have the working board on the way a guy on KLOV sold me on for 80 shipped ill be out of town his weekend but so i should get it like wednesday or thursday next week then i need to replace the resistor that caught fire on the ARII
can you point me in the direction of a place to get a big blue other than bob roberts? perferably a site that uses paypal i checked twistywrist and i dont think they sell them
I do not have a logic probe im not real sure how to use one either im sure I could learn on google this is my first arcade so im learning as I go I did fix the monitor with a cap kit which ive never done before so i feel like i can accomplish anything now
that is what scares me ian would it be wise to just replace all the ram? ive got a good working board on the way i figure ill fix this one in my spare time
Ive already got one coming for 80 shipped my guess is you're probably friends with that guy being as how he tried the same scare tactics on me and failed
