Hey there and welcome...

Sounds like a dead power supply.   The monitor and marquee would be powered direct, but the coin lights are most likely through the power supply.  Voltmeter would tell you if you're getting your +5v through the jamma.

looking great....

i'm trying to decide what my next scratch build style will be.  cabaret for sure, but which one?   I'm going to put my black tiger board in it, so debating which cabaret style to build.

The midway one has good plans available...

Ian offered a cabaret that looks really good, i'll have to ask him again to see about plans...

For now, Its been the ones that got away.

I've been home clearing and selling my parents house and the house after my parents passed away about a year ago now.

Since i'm selling and clearing out, i've discovered the hobby, and its helped to keep my sanity.

But i've talked myself out of so many deals, good and probably bad because I have decided to hold off building the arcade until I finish this and resettle myself whereever i end up.

But i also have a bit of a photographic memory, so I remember them all....  including a northern michigan road trip that 3 or 4 stops would have netted about 8-10 games probably for about 1500

So question:

How many courses do you get with the 2005 board you bought?   My GT fore was originally a 2002, which was upgraded each year with the cdrom/new security chip up to 2005.   unfortunately, in between the operator closing up shop and the game coming into my possession, someone stored it in a barn and it destroyed the board.  I was wondering if the upgrades kept the older courses or did it just give new courses.

I'll be getting a complete board/flash drive once i get free time and free cash.

I'm working on my own 2005 dead game.

What probably would have to happen, is that you need all the update disks for each year and you need to update the hdd up to 2005.  But i'll bet you can't do that since the board is already 2005.   I do have those, but i believe the board and hdd are linked so you probably can't even use your old hdd anyway.

Look on ebay or sites for the guys selling the hdd or flash drive with the cracked security chip.   It won't be the complete setup, but it should be the fore update to 2005 and the chip ensures you can use any drive (flash or hdd) with it.  I don't know if these guys are fly by night, but it sounds like thats the setup you want.  I've seen on ebay for 50-60 bucks.  good luck with it

[edit]  sorry, I need to be more awake when i read these things.   the 2005 works.   Its trying to get the HDD to work with 2002.  I don't think you can.  My understanding is that the old boards were married to its hdd.  so you just couldn't swap out.

Thanks for the link...

Always on the lookout for old cartoons of memories past...   Big animation fan, I was always a HB and WB fan, and throw in some Terrytoons (deputy dawg) and Walter Lantz shorts (woody woodpecker).

There's probably more I'm forgetting about.   But that youtube link was interesting in the fact that there were many short clips in it that I was like 'oh wow, I remember that!"

Another Canuck...   Grin

I'm interested to see what the Rock has for old games.  I see you stated in another post that its hard to find anything there.  Been along time since I was in the Navy and partied down George street...

How awesome is this, I've been looking to rebuild an classic arcade as a new hobby but can't find a machine locally. This would make a great alternative, Where in Canada are you located ?

If I may, (and let me state that Rick did not ask me to respond to this)...  I got their website from someone on Klov.  Gameroomdesigns is out of Ajax, which is a suburb of Toronto.

To try them out I bought a power supply and jamma harness from them.   Got it in the mail 3 days later.  I was impressed and do plan to purchase more parts.
