I'm not sure if Slava is a member on here or not, but I had the pleasure of doing business with him via eBay and he's been amazing to with. I initially wrote him via one of his auctions to ask him if he made Ms. Pac speed chips for boards that had the 6 ROM hack done (Thanks again to IAN for pointing out I had a hack board!! ) since I couldn't get the standard speed chip to work with my board. Well it turned out not only could he, but I sent him my board and he made it so it had the "proper" 6 ROM hack so my speed chip would work correctly (and any add-ons I decided to do from there), and even replaced a leaking cap that I didn't know was bad (the big silver one) while he was at it! All in less then 18hrs after receiving my board!!! I know a lot of you on here do your own board repairs, but if any of you are like me where there comes a point that you wanna leave it to someone with more experience, I HIGHLY recommend you shoot him a message!

Ok, so thanks to Ian's sharp eye, it turns out I have a Pac man board that has had a hack done to make it Ms Pac man (without the daughterboard). It seems to be one of the common hacks as seen on pinrepair.com. So hopefully there's a hack sped chip option for my situation. Otherwise I'm stuck with normal speed, OR unhack the board, OR pick up a good used "real" Ms. Pac man board and chipset.

If I got a cocktail with a G07 I would have changed the flyback along with the caps right off the bat (not saying this is the problem) but knowing how those flybacks are . better safe than sorry
I did. I did the fly back, the hot, the caps and now the c303 mod. Like I said it's not horrible and is really only noticeable when in attract mode and the scrolling marquee is up. I'm willing to with it if I need to. I wonder if it could be a board related issue. When I pull up the grid in test mode everything looks great.

So I bought a used "old" chip that was re-burnt to be a 6f speed chip for ms pacman off eBay, and when I installed it I didn't get any boot sequence, all I got was what looked like a 1" orange ball with a little blue and yellow on it on the screen. Nothing else. The red reset button on the board was unresponsive as was the test switch. Yes it was in correct and in the correct spot. I contacted the seller, he sent another and I have the same issue with the second chip. I have a factory board not a bootleg so I think I can rule that out as an issue. Any ideas?? He's got good feedback and sells these allot.
the chip is no good. it works without it , then you plug it in.. and it don't work. all you can do is contact the seller and ask if that was a known issue with HIS chips. Yeah he's been really understanding. I'm returning them for a refund. I'm gonna try a Bob Roberts speed up chip. Thanks!

So I just completed the Bob Roberts Cap Kit on my Ms Pac man cocktail. I did all the caps, and the Flyback (I didn't do the HOT because I forgot until after it was all reinstalled). And nothing changed, which I'm OK with because the picture looked crisp and bright prior to doing the cap kit (after I fixed my convergence issues). However, the right side of my screen (technically the right/bottom horizontal side even though it's technically "vertical" as you play the game) is ever so slightly squished like an isosceles trapezoid (See pic). It's especially noticeable on the scrolling marquee during attract mode since it's supposed to be a perfect rectangle. I haven't adjusted anything yet because I'm not sure what adjustment effects that. It's a G07-CBO and it did this before I did the cap kit too. It's not horrible, but if it's an easy adjustment I'd like to tweak it since everything else is so perfect. Thanks!

Thanks for all the help guys! The seller flaked, and a few days later I found a Ms. Pac man Cocktail (which is what I really wanted in the first place) in "on location" condition (Literally hauled it out of the pizza place that the operator has had it in for years). It was REALLY dirty, the monitor had some convergence issues that I fixed easily once I realized what it was (thanks again to you guys), and the board has a lot of hacks (needs new edge connector eventually). It's gonna be a fun project, I've got a ton of new parts on the way!
