1  Tech and Marketplace / I need help with my game! - Technical Discussion / Area 51/Maximum Force Security chip on: April 17, 2016, 06:17:17 pm
I have an Area 51/Maximum Force board that has a bad RAM chip so I transplanted the EPROMs to a Maximum Force board. Now the game is throwing me a Ream Error. I looked it up and it has to do with the Security chip. So I am wondering where it is so I can transplant that chip too to the new board.
2  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Re: Zback buttons on: October 01, 2015, 01:27:52 am
I'm assuming you are talking about Street Fighter II Champion Edition since those commonly came in Zback cabinets.
Street Fighter games are typically it's laid out like this, with top row buttons 1,2,3 coming from the jamma harness, and the bottom row is laid out with buttons 4,5,6 these are usually coming from a kick harness, occasionally button 4 also comes out of the jamma harness instead of the kick harness, but the control panel layout is still the same.

Hope that helps you.

Yes this helps me alot. This will help me wire the buttons up to the harness when I get the stuff to go into the cab. I am rewiring it from a light gun game to a fighting game. So the CP has only the player one and two start buttons(that I will be replacing with new ones.) Am thinking about making it a street fighter game if I can find a cheap board for it.

I am wondering if anyone knows the button placement for the Zback cab? As in what buttons are 1 - 6. I need to know for wiring purpasis as I am converting my Zback cab back into a fighting game from a light gun game.

9  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Common chips? on: October 22, 2014, 02:19:43 am
I'm wondering if the PCBs out there share any common RAM chips? This board I have some of the RAM chips have some rust on them and will most likly need to replace them so I am hoping that a lot of the PCBs share the same type of RAM chips so I can order them in bulk if I have to.
10  Arcade and Pinball Discussions / Beginner's Help Corner / Universal Testing harness on: October 16, 2014, 07:48:59 pm
I just won my self a Centapid PCB and now I am thinking of making a set up for testing out PCBs. I am wanting it to be able to test alot of type of boards so wondering if it should have a JAMMA connecter with mutable converter bords or just splice in each edge connecter into the wiring harness.
