Legacy of the Ancients on Commodore 64 Earthbound on Super Nintendo Phantasy Star 2 on Sega Genesis Spellcaster on Sega Master System Auto Duel on Commodore 64 Pen and paper is AD&D Call of Cthulhu Star Trek Marvel Super Heroes Price of Freedom Title: Re: Your favorite RPGs from the late 80s or early 90s Post by: VertexGuy on April 24, 2014, 02:32:32 am I was on a bike or skateboard somewhere or at a party lol.
Title: Re: Your favorite RPGs from the late 80s or early 90s Post by: BloodyCactus on April 24, 2014, 08:03:39 am legacy of the ancients was fun. I think it was the second last game to use that engine. Legacy of Blacksilver was the last, and imo better of the two. rumours of a third never turned out. (LOA/LOB/LOC!)
I liked Questron 2 probably more than the others but Legend of Blacksilver was good too, I think it was the only one of them all (questron 1,2, ancients, blacksilver) not made by the same people, and it shows. Lot more refinements in the Q2 engine. Suikoden is my all time favorite RPG series but it started in 1995 I think.
Title: Re: Post by: Tighe on May 04, 2014, 06:05:34 pm Star Control 2 is an epic game! Never really considered it a RPG, You can play it on PC and android now as the source code was released open source, but they Fred Ford and Paul had to change the name to Ur-Quan Masters because they sold the name.
Also, my favorite RPGs back then were: Sword of Vermilion (Genesis - by Yu Suzuki) Luna the silver Star (Sega CD) Phantasy Star (master system) Super Mario RPG Shadow Gate Earthbound Title: Re: Your favorite RPGs from the late 80s or early 90s Post by: airsoftmodels on May 07, 2014, 11:12:56 am I had Ultima III and Ultima IV for the Apple //c, but I think Wizardry started it all in 1981!
