Title: WTB - Journey parts - PCB HARNESS ETC. Post by: John's Arcade on March 09, 2014, 10:01:09 am I'm on the hunt for parts to do a Journey restore. I need pretty much everything.
Harness, artwork, control panel, PCB, power supply, cassette player, etc. etc. etc. If you have any MCR stuff please let me know. I should be able to convert a Tapper PCB to Journey. So, I would love to get any MCR harness I can. I will buy junk games too to get these parts. Thanks! Title: Re: WTB - Journey parts - PCB HARNESS ETC. Post by: John's Arcade on March 09, 2014, 10:26:50 am I just found a control panel. Take that off the list. :)

Rich is holding a set for me. I'm all set on the art. The #1 thing right now is the PCB. I have most of everything else. I do have a Tron harness on the way but would take an original harness instead. Title: Re: WTB - Journey parts - PCB HARNESS ETC. Post by: iankellogg on March 13, 2014, 09:49:45 am you mentioned you knew some people with MCR board sets. Grab one or ebay it, they seem fairly cheap.

Grab one or ebay it, they seem fairly cheap. I should have a Tapper PCB soon. I thought I could convert it but I might be wrong. I cant' find any clear documentation on it and no one seems to agree. According to the MCR FAQ Tapper and Journey share the same board stack. HOWEVER, I am hearing that Journey has its own unique Super CPU board. When I get the Tapper I'm gonna try to get it working first then swap ROMs and see what happens. If I can't get the Tapper PCB working I have a back up plan that involves the Tapper PCB. :) http://www.gamefaqs.com/arcade/916363-arcade-games/faqs/9464 Also, for the casette interface amp board... I have learned of a way to recreate the casette player with an Arduino and an MP3 Shield. I will most likely go this route. Title: Re: WTB - Journey parts - PCB HARNESS ETC. Post by: lesoleil70 on March 13, 2014, 11:51:13 am Can you test the theory by using the tapper you already have?
Was playing journey on my 438 in 1 yesterday, never played it on original so can't really compare, but if you want to know anything special about it let me know. Title: Re: WTB - Journey parts - PCB HARNESS ETC. Post by: John's Arcade on March 13, 2014, 12:45:00 pm FYI -- the Journey board had a unique Super CPU board in the stack. The model is 91475. If I can find this single board I should be home free.

I read that too. What's odd is 90010 is MCR ii. Journey is MCR iii Title: Re: WTB - Journey parts - PCB HARNESS ETC. I can make the tape for you too ! Title: Re: WTB - Journey parts - PCB HARNESS ETC. Yes, I have used that adapter before. It's ok. It works well in some games and not so well in others. I have a working original power supply on the way. I am hoping that will do the trick! Otherwise, I will for sure get one of those. Title: Re: WTB - Journey parts - PCB HARNESS ETC. Here's what I should have so far. I haven't received much of this in the mail yet: 1 - Control Panel 2 - Tapper PCB 3 - Working Power Supply 4 - Power Supply and PCB brackets 5 - Tron harness 6 - Audio Amp (I already had this) Need: 1 - Artwork (waiting until I have the extra $$) 2 - A working PCB. Gonna try to use the Tapper. But, we'll see... 3 - Misc. stuff like buttons, etc. 4 - Casette interface board/amp and cassette player -- OR, I will do the Arduino.
