Title: Coin Ops 5 XBOX Classic Post by: lesoleil70 on January 02, 2014, 02:15:39 pm Over Xmas / New years I got hold of Coin Ops 5 and put all 60+GB of it over to the old modded xbox (classic).
Shed load of work gone into this one, it's a real cheap way of getting multiple emulators running on one system if you don't want a mame cabinet or can't house one., it ain't perfect for the perfectionists, but there's plenty there for most IMHO These machines are not expensive now, soft modding is not too hard, many tutorials about. Had quite a few hours fun, forgot how much I liked RoadBlasters, and I have a new fave - Blades Of Steel (Arcade), I used to love this on the NES, don't remember this one in the UK arcades, we're not to big on ice hockey, but this was great fun. Anyway, if you have an old xbox, the torrent is easily found. If you're having trouble finding it, click here to complain http://bayproxy.me/torrent/8952769/ (http://bayproxy.me/torrent/8952769/) Happy new year. Title: Re: Coin Ops 5 XBOX Classic Post by: STEVESPEEZE on January 02, 2014, 03:51:33 pm yeah except the fact that coinops 5 is a tad over 80 gigs(with the newest update ) not 60. Stock coinops 5 is alittle over 66 gigs.
Im doing one right now.. ive made 4 of those machines check out the vids. Making the flash drive ( i didnt buy my shit already done on a mem card) i hacked an xbox controller to take a small flash drive. after that you can just copy the files over to an xbox mem card . The one thing about coinops 5 is getting Daphne to fully work. all the laser disc games that is. Check this vid out .. i mess around alot with old xboxs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXVQ8D0buow Title: Re: Coin Ops 5 XBOX Classic Post by: lesoleil70 on January 02, 2014, 05:14:25 pm Seems that the vids take up a lot of the space, and slow down the menu, one thing I noticed waiting for the FTP to transfer it all over, personally I could live without that for a faster menu, but hey, I do appreciate the efforts in making the coin ops 5 what it is today.
The one I grabbed was the one on the torrent, no doubt there's more out there, but this will do for me, I struggled getting Dragons Lair going, and tried a few playstation titles just to get black screens. I'll check out your vids now. Title: Re: Coin Ops 5 XBOX Classic Post by: lesoleil70 on January 05, 2014, 08:11:56 am Yeah I will get it, just not right now, it seems to have enough to keep me busy, I will look for the x arcade though.
Title: Re: Coin Ops 5 XBOX Classic Post by: STEVESPEEZE on January 05, 2014, 12:07:52 pm you pretty much copy new files and overwrite all the files with the new ones via FTP "EXCEPT" anything "ROMS" folder.. leave those be.
it goes pretty quick. Then rescan your games. No need to look they are on ebay, free shipping 179 on sale. the tankstick that is. BE SURE the xbox/ps3 adaptor is included free. thats the one you want. Imma order one tomorrow , its for a friend (hes payin me to build him a machine) he also (and i havent tried this yet lol) wants me to buy all the wood and make him a cabinet. I shit you not . Its like 4 pieces of ply... two pieces of plexiglass and one 8 dollar light tube for the marquee. I picked an xbox up from waterbury ct last night for 10 bux so i guess ill use that in the cab and he already has a 26 inch monitor.
