Title: Hogan's Alley color problem. Post by: krakorjak on April 23, 2017, 02:46:18 pm Hello everyone I'm trying to figure out my Nintendo Red tent. I'm trying to get Hogan's Alley to work. This is the only rom set I have currently. So my issue is my colors are not correct. After tweaking with the monitor I have come to the conclusion that I don't think its a monitor issue. It looks like my white is were my Black should be. I wondering if it is a PPU problem but after checking Johns VS page I have the correct PPU for Hogan's Alley. Does anyone have any suggestions.

There was a mod on the board to make it work with different monitors. (I guess the Sanyo's that came in Donkey Kong are inverted color monitors so the board has a spot built in for you to do a simple mod to make it work with a "non" inverted color monitor.) Maybe there is something like that going on but I would have no idea where to look on your board for the mod. You need a print and stare at it real hard.
Maybe go to Adam's YouTube channel and see if you can find the Donkey Kong repair video that dealt with this. It may just send you down the right path to eventually finding your issue. Did some digging. Here's the video... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6mdj0dLjss Title: Re: Post by: krakorjak on April 24, 2017, 09:26:26 pm Update! Thanks P-feif. So after you saying this I started looking on my monitor board. Sure enough I didn't know that the Sharp 1801n had a switch to invert the colors. So I flipped the switch and the screen went white. So I pulled my other monitor out that didn't boot up at all and retried it. Sure enough after replacing a fuse the monitor came on wigh the colors inverted. So I flipped the switch on this one and sure enough the colors are correct. So all in all I fixed one monitor with a fuse and now need to figure out whsts up with the switch for the invert colors on the other.
