Title: Gyruss card connector and board - Help please!
Post by: Low_crawl on July 03, 2016, 10:45:30 pm
I picked a Gyruss cabinet that needs some TLC. Two pins on the card connector appear to be broken and at one time were soldered on the board.

On the pin-out it appears to be 17 (ground) and 18 (+5v).

I don't like the way they were soldered to the card edge and am not sure it can be cleaned for a new cars. I was wondering are  there test pins on the Gyruss board I could attach the wires to like on John's bullet proofing video on Pole Position?

Open to ideas.

I would replace the edge connector socket and remove access solder from the edge connector. You can then fix the edge connector with epoxy and foil tape to repair the edge connector. There are several YouTube videos that show you how to do this type of repair.
